Maybelline The Eraser Foundation in 020 Cameo Review...

Thanks to some Boots points, I got this foundation a few days ago and I'm really impressed!

The shade I chose was '020 Cameo', so if you normally wear NW15 or NC20 by MAC, then give this one a try. I'm fair-skinned with a cool undertone and this is my perfect shade out of the 6.

Maybelline say:

Go beyond covering lines – instantly erase the look of creases, crow’s feet and fine lines. With an applicator exclusively designed to apply the super-concentrated formula, The Eraser instantly fills and smoothes the look of imperfections.

The sponge applicator is a cinch to use...

Directions for use:

• Slowly turn the red neck of the bottle in direction of arrows until foundation begins to appear.
• Apply foundation directly to face, blending with the applicator in an outward motion as needed.
• For best results, apply sparingly.
• To apply more, twist neck of applicator 1-2 clicks at a time.
• Directions for cleaning: The Eraser formula is protected with an anti-microbial system.
• Do not wet applicator. Wipe off excess foundation with dry tissue only.

Containing Collagen & Goji Berry, this foundation glides on and feels weightless upon application. It also contains SPF18, which is a great bonus!
It blends really well, but it doesn't cover every freckle/imperfection. It made my skin look even & fresh and with powder it stayed put all day. I wore it in my FOTD post yesterday and I plan on wearing to work on Monday. That will be a real test, as I will be applying it at 6.30am and won't be taking my makeup off until about 10pm! Think I might need a powder touch-up at 3pm! :)

I tried to swatch it on my hand, so I hope you can see it...

Hopefully, you can see the line through the middle of the photo. The bottom half is where I blended the foundation.

I'm not sure if it's down to the Collagen & Goji Berry, but the foundation looks really natural. It's not drying and it sets to a nice, fresh finish.

My only complaint is that the applicator is a bit hard - around the edge, the sponge feels nice, but it's a bit solid when pressed into skin. I also find that I have to blend it lightly with my fingers afterwards so that there are no streaks. I'm planning on trying different techniques with the sponge to see if I can avoid this.

I don't normally buy Maybelline foundation (after the awful 'Dream Satin Liquid', which masqueraded as a foundation!) but this is really nice.

Priced at £9.99 for 20ml, it's a bargain.

Have you tried 'The Eraser' yet? x

  7. Sounds great and just checked out your FOTD yesterday it looks flippin gorgeous on you. I have to say i tend to wear high end foundations a bit more than my revlon types but thats just because ive never found a cheaper one that i like as much. This is worth trying out though. Id love to find a perfect foundation that was a few less pennys. xx

  8. Can you clean the sponge easily? I'm always put off by products that come with an applicator attached - same with the YSL Perfect Touch, i'm just not sure!!

  9. @nicoletta.. thanks hun :) I'm the same - I always thought 'cheap = nasty', but I am impressed by this foundation! I'd def recommend it as (with a bit of powder) it's stayed put all day and still looks fresh :) x

@Jo.. I think so - it says not to wet the sponge, just to wipe some tissue over it. It also claims to be an anti-bacterial sponge, so perhaps that's the reason it shouldn't be wet? I honestly don't care, because I love it! :) x
