Balenciaga Paris Eau de Parfum Review...

I picked up a sample of a perfume recently and this is it...

Balenciaga Paris Eau de Parfum

Balenciaga describes this perfume as..

One of the most eagerly anticipated fragrance launches, this is the first release from the iconic couture house since 1998’s Cristobal. This floral chypre opens with a demure violet note reminiscent of springtime optimism, floral breezes and blossom. A peppery note reveals itself, swelling over mossy wood and nighttime foliage, to create a fragrance full of light yet offering glimpses of dark apertures.

Created by nose Olivier Polge, winner of the 10th Prix International Du Parfum, the signature fragrance is fronted by French beauty Charlotte Gainsbourg. Says Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquière Balenciaga Paris is a “…fragrance that makes a mark and haunts the memory… a fragrance with a delicate mystery."

Containing notes of violet, violet leaves, carnation, patchouli and cedar, this perfume is both intriguing and intoxicating.

As it's an Eau de Parfum, a couple of quick squirts is all you need. The dry down is amazing and different notes emerge. I keep sniffing my wrists and love it more each time :)

I don't think this perfume will be to everyone's taste... Initially it's very strong and all the notes come out full pelt! BUT, as it drys down, it turns into a really wearable scent. I think the trick is not to spray too much. It also might be more of an evening/occasion perfume, so if you're looking for something to wear every day, this might be too heavy. I think that if I did wear it during the day, I would be very conservative and only wear one spray!

The sample I got was only 1.2ml so I really want to get a full-sized bottle soon. They also do a matching shower gel and body lotion, which is a bonus if you're a fan of layering your scent.

As it's Christmas, Balenciaga have released some beautiful gift sets of this fragrance. They come in stylish cases, which would look gorgeous on anyone's dressing table.

Have you tried this perfume? Is one of the gift sets on your Xmas list? x
