Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Review...

I would always read great reviews on Cleanse & Polish and used to say to myself 'I'll get some'. However, this was easier said than done, because my nearest counter is a fair few miles away! I don't know about you, but I much prefer going to a store and buying products rather than shopping online.

On Saturday, I received the Cleanse & Polish Starter Kit...

A closer look at the goodies inside...

The starter kit contains: 100ml of Cleanse & Polish, 2x Muslin Cloths and a gorgeous zip-up bag to keep it all in. It also comes with a handy take-it-in-the-bathroom instruction leaflet.

It also came beautifully wrapped...

I was sent this to try and I am absolutely head-over-heels in love with it. I have never - in my many years of using skincare products - come across one that actually does what it claims to do. I have been using this since Saturday (twice a day) and I put it to the test by using it to remove a full face of makeup - gel eyeliner, mascara, blusher, foundation, powder & concealer.

I honestly wasn't expecting to be able to use it on my eyes, but I was amazed to find that not only did it work, but there was no redness or stinging.

It's also such a quick and simple product to use. To give you an idea of just how quick, my previous Clinique routine used to take 20 minutes. Using this, it now takes me just 10 minutes in the morning and 10 minutes in the evening. Result! It takes me the same amount of time in the morning as I'm applying foundation.

I love the face that it's effortless to use. Just dispense 1-2 pumps into dry hands, apply onto dry skin (whether you're wearing makeup or not) and then gently massage it in. If you're removing makeup, apply it over your eyelids & eyelashes last so that you don't spread your mascara everywhere. Then, simply dip the muslin cloth into hand-hot water, squeeze out any excess water and wipe off the cleanser. Rinse the cloth and repeat. Voila! All done! Until I get my hands on some Skin Tonic & Light Moisturiser, I am using Sanctuary Spa Pore Refining Toner and Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion. I decided to use 'natural' products instead of trying to work my Clinique Clarifying Lotion and moisturiser into the Cleanse & Polish routine.

I'm almost at the end of my 3-Step and I am actually disappointed. My skin has not gotten any better (despite 2-3 months of consistent use) and I was still finding traces of foundation when I washed my face the next morning.

The fact that Cleanse & Polish is a bargain at just £13.25 for the Starter Kit means I'll save lots of cash. With Clinique 3-Step I need an eye makeup remover, a cleanser to remove my foundation etc & then Clinique Liquid Facial Soap. I think I've finally found my Holy Grail, does-it-all, cleanser.

The smell is divine and it contains no mineral oil. My skin is left soft & smooth and I look forward to using it.

My Starter Kit also came with some great information booklets...

The Spring Green Issue (newsletter), Product Guide & Price List

The promotional material is very well put together and it's obvious that the brand cares about their products, customers and the impact they have on the environment.

As I'm going to a John Lewis store in a couple of weeks' time, I'm planning on getting the Spring Time Must-Haves. For the bargain price of £41, this contains enough products for the perfect Cleanse, Tone & Moisturiser routine:

This is the perfect kit if you're a fan of the range as it comes with 2x Cleanse & Polish, 2x Muslin Cloths, 1x Skin Tonic and 1x Moisturiser. It also comes with a choice of 3 different moisturisers: Normal/Combination, Dry/Sensitive or Combination/Oily. The Skin Tonic and Cleanse & Polish remain the same regardless of which moisturiser you choose.

I can't wait to purchase this kit as I will then have the complete set and enough Cleanse & Polish to slather on to my hearts content : )

If you're looking to try anything from the Liz Earle range, you can visit their website here.

Although I was sent this Starter Kit to review, I was not paid to do so and the words in this review are purely my own.

  1. I used this a while ago after getting the little kit with the cleanse & polish, toner and moisturiser in. I loved the cleanse & polish but I didn't repurchase it purely because I too like going into a shop and buying stuff rather than just online all the time. Theres a store in Glasgow which sells this but even thats a bit of a trek.

I've started using the No7 hot cloth cleanser so I hope it matches up to the Liz Earle stuff :)

  5. @smoosh_kissxx... it's a shame that there aren't more retailers. I'm taking my mum to a John Lewis store (her favourite!) and they sell it there. It's a trek, but I'm stocking up! :) How does No7's compare? x

    @Alisha... thanks hun :) I can't rave about it enough! :) x

@Joanna Louise... thank you! if you do, go straight for the 100ml - you'll regret buying a small size! :) x
